Vuyo Viwe (Johannesburg)

Emerging from Johannesburg’s new wave of sound healers, @vuyotshwele carries forward a lineage of South Africa’s golden jazz era, where music danced between prayer, protest and poetry. Her sound is endowed with the rawness of “uhadi” and “ngoma” time signatures, blending orchestral folk and alternative vocal melodies.

Having recently debuted as a band leader in Johannesburg’s rich jazz scene, Vuyo Viwe is an electrifying performer, masterfully blending ceremony and classical composition, echoing a defiant creativity.

Tessi Nandi

Tessi Nandi is a singer-songwriter from Mbombela, Nelspruit, blending nostalgic soul, R&B and understated pop. Adopted young, she started writing at 15 with her debut single, Time Is a Thief, showing early maturity in voice and perspective.

Her latest single, Embody, tackles depression and the fear of sadness becoming part of who we are, holding space for both heaviness and hope. It’s struck a chord, gaining growing international interest. Tessi keeps building a body of work that’s grounded, introspective and quietly powerful.

Ruby Alix

Ruby Alix is a musician from Cape Town, South Africa. Her music draws inspiration from her experiences of love, heartbreak, grief and spirituality. Her inward approach to music examines the humanity, messiness and beauty that being human gifts us. Ruby has been a performer all her life and has used music as a tool to understand, navigate and soothe the growing pains of adolescence and adulthood.
