Inner City Art Walk

The Inner City Art Walk is a public art programme that features both existing and new public artworks along St George’s Mall, connecting through to North Wharf Square. The project is an invitation to walk the city, introducing beauty and cultural connection into the everyday experience of moving through Cape Town.

To mark the launch of the Inner City Art Walk, the Mission is hosting a guided walking tour from St George’s Cathedral to North Wharf Square. The walk will showcase the public artworks featured in the first phase of the project, along with the sites of future installations. Participants are invited to engage with these spaces, share perspectives and contribute to the conversation around a new public art programme for Cape Town’s inner city. The tour will be led by Gareth Pearson, Head of Placemaking at the Mission for Inner City Cape Town.
